TAPLab stands for Testing and Assessment in Psychology.

Our research revolves around the development of psychological measures from creating a test blueprint to item writing, in person and on-line test administration, item analysis, reliability and validity, fairness checks, and implementation and use.

We are currently involved in four major projects: 1) Development of the PASS, Predictors of Academic Success of Students, a measure of non-cognitive predictors of first-year college success; 2) Assessing the relationship between personality traits and the way we see and respond to situations/ethical dilemmas; 3) Analysis of the Tail Waggin’ Tutor reading program at West Belmar Elementary School; and 4) Investigation of other Animal-Assisted Interventions, including the use of therapy dogs on college campuses.
